We offer casual and semi-formal, same-day Marriage Licenses and Ceremonies in our offices. On the day of your appointment, we will sign and complete various documents for about 45 minutes, and then we will perform a casual or semi-formal ceremony to legalize the marriage. You may invite guests to witness your marriage, but witnesses are not required.

Requirements

In order to receive a marriage license, you need the following:

1. We require both partners to have a valid Identification Card. Either 

Drivers License

State Issued ID


Military Service Card

Passport

Alien Registration Card

Matricula Consular Registration Card

Consular Identification

2. If either partner has been married before, you must bring proof of:

Divorce

Death Certificate of previous spouse

Annulment

Dissolution of State Registered Domestic Partnership

3. Both partners will need to know their birth father and birth mother full names. (First, middle and last)

4. Both partners must be living together.

What is a Confidential Marriage License?

A Confidential Marriage is still a legally binding marriage that could be used as a foundation for green card application. A Confidential Marriage License is legally binding and becomes a confidential record. The only people who can access the license are the couple, unless a court order is obtained. Confidential Marriage Licenses are not part of the public record, unlike public marriage licenses. 

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, you will receive your copy of the Marriage License that will act as your Proof of Marriage. We will file all documents with the County and you will receive the official License and Certificate of Marriage in the mail within 4-8 weeks.
